We don’t know if there is a sign for the Rome State Airport.  It is about 25 miles from the ‘town’ of Rome, and only lots of rutty gravel roads to the airfield.  That pointy bowling-pin doo-dad in the background is the VOR, the navigation aid across the highway from the airstrip.  There is a shack with solar panels for the weather station in the small photos.
